My Dear Sweet Princess Lexus,

I want to THANK YOU for being my constant companion and CO-WORKER!  You have got to be one of the hardest working gals I know.   From the time you arrived in Phoenix and stole Edison's heart, you became the little SPOKESPERSON for Rescue!!!   You were purchased as a puppy, to be a companion to Edison, and you were, and you had him WRAPPED AROUND YOUR PAW AT FIRST GLANCE, but YOU WERE SO MUCH MORE!!!   Of course, YOU WERE MY GIRL!   My Princess!   My silly PLAYMATE!  But, you were also the HOSTESS to over 600 wayward rescue dogs in your lifetime and always the perfect representative for the breed!!!    SHowing them all the ropes.   Showing them there were NOW IN A SAFE PLACE and showing them all how to GET ALONG and be GOOD GUESTS!!!     For all of this, I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

Your work was tireless!   Every Rescue Event, Every Big Dog Event, Every Adoption effort, Every Educational program in the elementary schools, EVERY NURSING HOME VISIT, the Animal Planet program, the list goes on an on!

I was always so worried about you, as your troubles with Anesthesia were so great that I lost you several times, but, guess it was never your time, until now.  That fateful morning, on July 2nd.   This was supposed to be your birthday month, as you would have been 8 years old, on July 19th.  Dr. Hereski and I had been through so much with you, from taking a tumor off of your head WITHOUT ANY ANESTHESIA, and you were STILL perfectly behaved, to having to have some teeth pulled, and bringing the head of Anesthesiology up from Tucson, to keep you alive for the procedure!   Yikes, you really gave Polsia and I heart attacks just watching you go taccocardia.....................however you spell that!

Your love for life, sense of humor and love for me was ALWAYS at the forefront of your actions.  I miss you terribly, and I find myself closing a HUGE chapter of my life, that was filled with years of love, enjoyment and the never ending plea to the public, to THINK BEFORE THEY PICK A DOG!

Thanks for waking me up to help you, that last morning, and giving me your LAST SWEET KISSES, which, ended up being good bye......................I hope you're with Edison, Eliza,  and Dutchess.    Come visit me, ANY TIME, I miss you Miss Girl.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,All My love,

Connie Tedford
